Erasma Beras Monticciolo is an Afro-Latina woman raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn by way of Barahona in the Dominican Republic. Erasma has 15 years of experience in early childhood, transformational leadership and advocacy.
Erasma’s occupational purpose is centered around supporting Black, Latino/a/x, Indigenous, and all people of color in reclaiming their ancient wisdom of renativized parenting to foster healthy family relationships that positively transform not only the conditions for the development of children and the well-being of parents, but also for the cohesion and action of the entire community.
As co-founder of Power of Two, Erasma was named in the “Inaugural Care 100,” honoring the 100 most influential people working to reimagine and rehumanize America’s health and wellness system. She serves on the board of directors of the Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York (CCC), and Perfecto Labs. She is an alumna of Greater New York Fellowship, Promising Ventures Studios Fellowship, NYU Steinhardt’s Senior Leaders Fellowship, and is an Aspen Institute Healthy Communities Fellow. Erasma graduated from St. John’s University with a double degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She graduated from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service with a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in International Development. Erasma also received a certificate in Gender Studies from the Teacher’s College of Columbia University. Erasma transitioned to República Dominicana in 2021 and lives with her husband and children in Santo Domingo.
